Celebrating what it means to be a ‘Woman in Physics’Liz Hingley Artist and Anthropologist Annie Mahtani Department of Music Professor Nicola Wilkin Physicist and Local Conference Chair This dynamic audiovisual installation offers a unique insight into the work of women in physics today as they push the boundaries of knowledge and impact lives around the world. This dynamic audiovisual installation offers a unique insight into the work of women in physics today as they push the boundaries of knowledge and impact lives around the world. The installation features a diverse range of photos submitted by delegates of the IUPAP International Conference on Women in Physics, which is taking place at UoB from 17-20 July. It will be accompanied by an immersive soundscape created using recordings from the University of Birmingham School of Physics & Astronomy and solar frequency data measured by Birmingham Solar-Oscillations Network (BiSON). Finding Space follows on from ‘Making Space; celebrating women from the Univeristy of Birmingham’. |
